Decoding Rural Space Reconstruction Using an Actor-Network Methodological Approach: A Case Study from the Yangtze River Delta, China

Using actor-network theory (ANT), this paper explores the process and mechanisms of rural space reconstruction in China post-urbanization era. In context urban–rural integration development China, villages have become diversified. They are not only living spaces villagers, but they also consumption urban residents. Through a case study typical village Yangtze River Delta, highlights that spatial includes heterogeneous actors, such as committee, governments, tourism enterprises, makers, housing, landscape—among which Lishui Government is key actor. Therefore, argues China’s greatly dependent on external resources government policy support or enterprise investment. future, promoting public participation will be necessary to realize villages’ endogenous transformation development.
